buildingSMART Sweden - earlier and still formally called Swedish IAI (SIAI) is the Swedish interest group within the buildingSMART initiative within IAI (International Alliance for Interoperability). IAI is a worldwide co-operation organized in 9 regional Chapters. The Nordic countries have constituted one of these Chapters, the Nordic IAI (NIAI). The aim of buildingSMARTis to develop and support integrated BIM with IFC (Industry Foundation Classes). Initiatives and work being carried out in Sweden on IFC are sometimes in Swedish and sometimes in English. Some is proprietary and some is public.
